The Aquaculture specialty is designed to prepare students for successful careers in the rapidly growing field of aquatic farming and fisheries management. This program provides a comprehensive understanding of the science, technology, and sustainable practices required to cultivate and manage aquatic organisms for food, recreation, and conservation. Core areas of study include: Breeding, rearing, and harvesting of fish, shellfish, and other aquatic species. Aquatic ecosystems and water quality management. Sustainable aquaculture practices and environmental conservation. Aquaculture economics, marketing, and business management. Students will gain hands-on experience through laboratory work, farm operations, and field studies, equipping them with practical skills to address global challenges such as food security, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience.
